Looking for a car with an internet connection?

Well, it looks like Chrysler is the first car to offer this option. This will be another nice feature for people who take their office with them in their cars or just need to stay connected.

Well, someone like my husband who uses his truck as his office would love to be able to connect with the world and use the applications on his computer. Better than parking outside of hotels or at interstate reststops and getting that connection. I think the car people are only thinking about internet radio. However, I think consumers will be the ones to determine if they need that connection in their vehicles. I do realize that many already use wireless cards and satellite to connect in their cars, but perhaps this will make it more versatile.

Sorry for the "comment deleted" mess I made above. The first contained a misspelling that I tried to correct. No go without deletion. The second was just poorly done, so I killed it. Anyway, here's hoping the third try's the charm!

I think with ubiquitous cellphone and GPS service, it makes sense for cars to come equipped to accommodate Internet service (why the high-dollar stereo I have in my 2007 car doesn't handle a USB mp3 player, I have no clue). All that's needed is good signal capture and power---folks will provide their own connecting devices. I'm not in my car often enough to make use of it, but for folks like your husband, it would be truly valuable. It's going to be interesting to see how that evolves.
